To show you why we love Acacia so much, we’ve listed a few of its key benefits. Keep reading to find out more about this amazing material!
1. Durable
Furniture that is used often or everyday needs to be robust, resilient and durable – which is why Acacia wood made the PERFECT choice for our garden set.
It’s density and hardness mean that, with the right protection and care, pieces made from this material can last decades. That’s a seriously long time!
2. Water Resistant
Another great reason to use Acacia wood for patio furniture is that it’s water resistant and doesn’t warp easily.
Whether it’s a spot of rain or a spilt glass of water – you have perfect peace of mind when it comes to protecting your patio table.
Tip: Exercise greater care with other liquids such as alcohol or perfume as excessive exposure can pull moisture from the wood & lead to cracking.
3. Antibacterial
Another undeniable plus is that the wood is resistant to rot, as well as immune to fungi and insects.
In addition, like many other types of wood – acacia is naturally antibacterial, and is therefore safe to use for preparing or serving food on.
As well as furniture, acacia wood is also a popular material for chopping boards and serving bowls, ideal for keeping harmful germs at bay!
4. Appearance
Acacia wood is without question a stunning natural material!
With its deep brown colour & attractive natural grain – it’s the perfect way to bring a warm exotic tone to your outside space.
Whether you decide to polish, varnish or leave natural, it’s a beautiful material to introduce into your garden aesthetic.

While it has been suggested that untreated Acacia wood can last up to 40 years, to keep it looking it’s best we recommend a few simple steps:

While Acacia wood can handle water well, when it comes to cleaning, it should only be hand-washed, and not soaked in water.
A mild soap, warm water solution will keep your Acacia wood happy.

It’s not recommended to expose your wood to extreme hot or cold temperatures.

Regular maintenance of the wood is also encouraged to preserve it’s durability and appearance.
For to prevent if from darkening, we recommend regular varnishing or polishing (take care to avoid products with Silicone or Ammonia).
